Trauma Therapy for Veterans, Active Duty, First Responders & ER Medical Staff

You've spent your career being the one who stays steady when everything else isn't. That doesn't turn off when the shift ends or the uniform comes off.

Hypervigilance that made sense on duty doesn't always know how to stand down at home. The alertness that kept you and everyone around you safe can start to feel like something you're stuck inside of, not something you chose. Sleep gets thin. Small things land bigger than they should. People who love you start asking if you're okay, and you're not always sure how to answer.

This work isn't about talking you out of what your nervous system learned. It's about helping your system recognize that the threat that trained it isn't happening right now.

I'm a licensed trauma therapist in Tucson and an Army veteran. I understand the culture, the reluctance to hand your story to someone who wasn't there, and the instinct to just manage it rather than deal with it. You won't have to translate your experience for me or convince me it's real.

My approach leans on Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Ego State Therapy, and EMDR — methods that work with the body and the lower brain directly, not just the narrative. That matters here, because shock and hypervigilance are held below conscious thought. You don't have to retell the worst moments in detail for the work to move.

What this can help with:

  • Hypervigilance and a nervous system that won't fully stand down

  • Sleep disruption tied to alertness or intrusive memory

  • Numbing, irritability, or a shorter fuse than you used to have

  • The weight of what you've seen or carried, whether or not it has a name

  • Difficulty letting people in, or feeling like you have to manage everyone else's experience of you

Practical Details

  • 10% reduced rate for veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and emergency healthcare professionals — $135 for a standard 60-minute session (standard rate $150)

  • Adult clients only

  • In-person in Tucson (5210 E. Pima St., Suite 200) or telehealth across Arizona

  • Superbills available for out-of-network reimbursement
