Using Out-of-Network Benefits

Personal Profile

Nando Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, many clients choose to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network (OON) benefits.

Out of Network

What Is a Superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes information your insurance company may require to reimburse you for therapy services.

Superbills typically include:

  • Provider name and license information

  • Session date and duration

  • Diagnosis code (when clinically appropriate)

  • Service code and fee paid

How Reimbursement Works

  1. You pay for your session at the time of service

  2. A superbill is provided upon request

  3. You submit the superbill to your insurance company

  4. Your insurer determines reimbursement (if any)

Reimbursement amounts and eligibility vary by plan. I cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • What percentage is reimbursed after my deductible?

  • Is there a session limit per year?

  • Are telehealth sessions covered (if applicable)?

Important Notes

  • Superbills are provided as a courtesy

  • Insurance companies make all reimbursement decisions

  • Diagnosis codes are required by insurers and may differ from how you personally understand your experience

If you have questions about fit or fees, feel free to ask during a consultation.
