Therapy for High-Achieving Professionals

From the outside, it doesn't look like there's a problem. You perform well. You're trusted with more than most people could carry. The parts of your life that show up on paper look, by most measures, like they're working.

That's exactly what makes this hard to name. You've read the books, done the reflecting, maybe even done therapy before, and you understand yourself reasonably well. Understanding hasn't been the missing piece. Something underneath still hasn't caught up to what your mind already knows.

Competence became the strategy a long time ago. Staying sharp, staying in control, staying two steps ahead.... it worked, and it's probably part of why you're good at what you do. But a nervous system that's spent years running on vigilance and performance doesn't know how to stand down just because the calendar clears for a weekend.

This work doesn't ask you to slow your career down or unlearn what's made you effective. It works with what your nervous system is still organizing around, at a pace that fits a demanding schedule rather than disrupting it. Sessions are structured around discretion and your actual capacity, not a fixed idea of what "doing the work" should look like.

I use Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Ego State Therapy, and nervous-system-focused approaches that don't require you to relive or narrate everything in detail to make progress. For people who process quickly and think clearly under pressure, that matters, since talk-based insight is rarely the missing ingredient.

What this can help with:

  • Chronic low-grade anxiety or tension that success hasn't resolved

  • Burnout that looks like high functioning from the outside

  • Difficulty delegating, resting, or letting your guard down, even when there's no immediate threat

  • Using achievement or control to manage an unease you can't quite name

  • Decision fatigue, flatness, or feeling disconnected despite having "it together"

  • Relationships or health quietly absorbing the cost of what your career doesn't show

Practical Details

  • 10% reduced rate for veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and emergency healthcare professionals — $135 for a standard 60-minute session (standard rate $150)
